We are very sorry to have to let you know that our good friend and colleague, Nick Bray, passed away suddenly on Thursday 15th November from a medical event while participating in an organised harbour swim.
Thank you to all who have passed on their condolences and offers of support over the last couple of weeks.
Nick leaves behind his wife Angela and three beautiful daughters – Mia Rose 11, Isabella 6 and Francesca 3. His Alchemy family is doing its best to support Ange and the girls at this terrible time.
Nick was a special person and a big part of our lives and will be sadly missed by us all. As a director and major shareholder at Alchemy, losing Nick is a big hole; on the other hand one of the key strengths of Alchemy is the succession planning and agreements we have in place should such an event occur.
Alchemy is a critical partner for many companies and I would like to reassure you that, as sad as this time is, we are in a very strong position to maintain your usual level of service and that there is no financial impact on Alchemy through this process.
We have brought forward plans that were already in place, for the appointment of the next directors. I am pleased to be able to confirm that Katrina Bunge, Tristan Molloy and Richard McIlraith now join myself as Directors of Alchemy NZ and Katrina joins Nigel and Cheryl Taylor as Directors of Alchemy Australia.
Alchemy has been fortunate to have Richard Calvin join us a few months ago, and Richard was already in the process of taking over responsibility for Nick’s coatings customers. Nigel and Tristan will now look after those in other industries. Alchemy has multiple relationships at all customers and suppliers so we don’t expect any significant issues as we transition through this process.
Nick will continue to have a big influence on Alchemy and we will all work hard to ensure that Alchemy is a legacy that would continue to make him proud.
